  • Operation Water Drop

The Operation Water Drop program is designed as a curricular extension program for the water unit within the science curriculum. Teachers and school divisions in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba have used the Operation Water Drop program with great success. It can be modified and adapted within the classroom to meet the needs for a wide range of grades and student abilities. The objective of this program is to bring about awareness for the importance of drinking water quality. The program offers background information about water quality; allows students the opportunity to study the water treatment and water chemistry of their municipal drinking water supply and assess the quality of the water in their community. Using the information they have learned from their community's drinking water resources, the students will ultimately create an action/stewardship plan for the on-going protection of their drinking water supply.
  • Destination Conservation

Destination Conservation Saskatchewan (DCS) is a practical, student-driven, activity-based program that brings environmental education alive in our schools. Students, teachers, principals, custodians and parents cooperate in this three-year, inquiry-based program. DCS helps students do real work for their school to identify conservation opportunities. The student leadership team works to help change consumption habits in the school community. The program focus is on saving energy, conserving water and reducing waste.
