Biodiversity

Saskatchewan has some very special areas of biological diversity, including the Redberry Biosphere Reserve, Cypress Hills, remaining patches of native prairie, the forest fringe, and large expanses of boreal forest in the north. Yet extensive agriculture, industrial forestry, mining, and oil and gas development threatens the integrity of these areas.
