Beyond Factory Farming
Beyond Factory Farming is a coalition of organizations opposed to the unchecked spread of ILOs in Canada. The Coalition includes local, provincial and national groups involved in various aspects of this issue. Through communication, support, and solidarity, it forms a common front to stop the province by province expansion of factory farming. The office is located in Saskatoon.
Community activists from across Canada and from the USA who participated in the Beyond Factory Farming conference held in Saskatoon in November 2002 decided to form a national coalition of the same name to promote a common vision: Livestock Production for Health and Social Justice and a mission: To promote livestock production that supports food sovereignty, ecological, human and animal health as well as local sustainability and community viability and informed citizen/consumer choice.
The Coalition hosts the Beyond Factory Farming web site, which offers a wide range or resources on the issue. It also operates an Internet list serve.
