Quill Lakes Marsh Network has been identified as a RAMSAR (The Convention on Wetlands, signed in Ramsar, Iran, in 1971) site, a wetlands of international importance and it is officially recognized as a Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network Site (WHSRN).

Provides information relating to the committee's mandate of investigating and reporting the environmental impact on the water, soil and air arising from the intensive hog operation facility situated in the Spirit Creek Watershed.

A volunteer non-profit corporation formed to enhance water quality and streams of the Swift Current Creek and Rush Lake Creek watershed. This is done by promoting awareness and understanding among water users.

A representative local stakeholder group formed to promote lake and watershed management and to make local decisions on the administration of funding assistance through the Agri-Food Innovation Fund. The Agri-Food Innovation Fund Board of Directors assigned the role of lead agency to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada - PFRA. This fund is providing resources for a pilot project to assess and manage water quality issues within the Big Shell Lake Watershed. This initiative will involve:
- an assessment of water quality issues
- selection and demonstration of various remedial options
- development and implementation of a locally acceptable plan to address and monitor water quality issues.
