Energy Conservation and Efficiency

In Saskatchewan, we spend more each year on energy - about $4.5 billion or an average of $4500 for every woman, child and man in this province - than we do on health and education combined. The environmental impacts of this energy use are huge.

Saving just 10% of our energy through conservation measures or increased efficiency would put $450 million extra dollars into the hands of consumers and businesses, representing a potent economic development tool, and do a lot to improve Saskatchewan's environment.

Expanding a number of conservation and efficiency measures already in place in Saskatchewan could make this goal feasible.
