SEN's Grassroots Activism Fund

SEN's Grassroots Activism Fund is designed to support member organizations working together on specific activities. We hope that the fund will allow groups to obtain matching funds from other sources too. Member groups can access the fund for activities such as:

  • organizing a meeting or conference to prepare a strategy for dealing with an issue of local or provincial concern
  • hosting a guest speaker or presenter for your community on a relevant issue
  • collecting information on an issue of concern for your group or community
  • attending a workshop or conference relevant to your organization
  • implementing an awareness campaign about a pressing issue

Criteria for the fund are as follows:

  • applicants must be members of SEN
  • applicants should submit applications of no more than two pages in length
  • applications should include:
    • objectives
    • a project description
    • contact information
    • a list of groups or organizations involved
    • a preliminary budget
  • applications can be for any amount up to $1000
  • preference will be given to projects that involve two or more organizations
  • preference will be given to projects that include other sources of income
  • preference will be given to projects that have the potential for ongoing impacts
